Most mobile gamers have a soft spot for puzzle games. Whether you are matching three candies together or eliminating every green pig in the scene, puzzle games are perfect time killers. Cut It could be one for the ages as the simple yet addictive gameplay has me coming back for more.

What is Cut It?

The aim of the game is simple, you have a bizarre object or shape in front of you and you must divide this object perfectly. In the first few levels, it is all about one perfect cut which separates one shape into two equal pieces.

Later on in the game, you will need to perform multiple cuts making the challenge even greater. After all, what’s more difficult than making one perfect 50/50 cut on a shape? Making two!

Tips, Cheats and Strategies

  • To pinch, or not to pinch. You can draw a line by either pressing a point or dragging forward. Or pinching outwards to be able to move the line freely before it is placed. Tapping and drawing out means wherever you first tap is a fixed position. Pinching allows you to move both points wherever you like.
  • Tap in the same place every time. If you are struggling to get a shape cut perfectly in two, then start your line in the same place every time. Then depending on how far off you are from a 50/50 means how much you should adjust for next time.
  • Go for perfection. Splitting a shape into two roughly equal parts is not challenging in my opinion. What makes this game hard to put down is going for that perfect fifty-fifty split. So let your inner perfectionist run wild!
  • Don’t be basic. If you are thinking like a square, then there are only two ways to cut a shape symmetrically. Cut It is not about symmetry, it’s all about having two pieces that have an equal volume. Which often means your two shapes will be different sizes, so don’t approach levels like a square.
  • Go nuts. There is a massive difference from trying to perfect each level, to getting three stars. Three stars just mean you were within a percent or two of perfection. So, if you are easily frustrated then go for three stars. If you want to be challenged and entertained, then nothing is more satisfying than seeing that crown above every level.
