It seems like every free to play game is getting a season pass these days, providing a regular bevvy of rewards that encourage you to play regularly to make the most of it. The latest is Clash Royale, which has just released the aptly-titled Pass Royale into the mix.
In this FAQ, we’re going to detail exactly what the Pass Royale is, what you get by owning one, and how to get it. That way you can make an educated decision regarding whether or not you want, or indeed need, one.
Pass Royale is a new premium season pass that provides you with regular rewards and perks for playing, and earning crowns in, Clash Royale. As you progress, you’ll unlock Crown Chests and different tiers, which provide a variety of different rewards.
It does indeed. Season 1, which is themed around a flood, features the Shark Tank Tower Skin and an exclusive emote. They’re permanent items but you can only earn them by participating in season 1 of Pass Royale. They won’t make a return during future seasons.
When you purchase Pass Royale, you’ll get the following items as a reward instantly:
An exclusive Pass Royale golden name
Unlimited re-entries and continues for Special Challenges
Queue up your next chest to start unlocking automatically
Lightning Strikes for all Pass Royale chests
That chest queue is worth the purchase alone!
To unlock new rewards using Pass Royale, you’ll need to earn Crowns. It costs 10 Crowns to progress throughout a tier. Once you’ve unlocked a new tier, you’ll receive a Pass Royale reward and a Crown Chest.
There are no limits to how many tiers you can progress per day. You’ll also unlock a tier automatically every 24 hours, except on weekends when you earn two tiers per 24 hours.
You don’t need to actually login to receive the tiers and Crown Chests either – you can simply collect all of the tiers you’ve skipped out on when you log back in next time.
If you manage to reach the final reward tier, you’ll earn a Legendary Chest.
Indeed it does! Free Pass Royale players only receive the Crown Chest when they increase a tier though, as the extra rewards are for paying customers only. Free Pass Royale players will also unlock a tier every 24 hours and two on weekends, and will earn the Legendary Chest from the final reward tier.
Simply boot up Clash Royale, tap on the Pass Royale prompt or visit the shop, and purchase it. It’s as simple as that.
