As well as the rankings in my Catch a Monster Mutations Tier List, I also discuss how to get them and each stat buff. Plus, I explain how Weather Events work in Catch a Monster.

Mutations work best on your strongest pets, but if you’re unsure about whether or not your pets are any good, check out our Catch a Monster Pet Tier List.

Weather Events

Weather Events have a chance to grant exclusive Mutations and Pets. The two most notable events for Mutations are the Bloodmoon and Dreamveil events.

There are also seasonal events, for example, Christmas and Thanksgiving. Weather-wise, there’s Snow, Aurora, Lightning, Cloudy and Rain.

Bloodmoon Weather Event

During the Bloodmoon Weather Event, three mutations have a chance to drop: Bloodlit, Shiny, and Huge.

  • Bloodlit
    • 0.5% during a Bloodmoon
  • Shiny
    • 0.3% during a Bloodmoon
  • Huge
    • 0.013% during a Bloodmoon

Dreamveil Weather Event

While the Dreaveil Weather Event is active, there are three possible mutations: Fairy, Shiny, and Huge.

  • Fairy
    • 0.5% during Dreamveil
  • Shiny
    • 0.3% during Dreamveil
  • Huge
    • 0.013% during Dreamveil

Are Mutations Important?

If a pet has a Mutation, their stats receive a buff. Depending on the Mutation, the boost differs, but they can stack. A pet can have multiple mutations, but if the buffs they provide are the same, then the boost is multiplied.

I recommend trying to get Mutations as soon as possible for your best pets. As mentioned above, some have a chance to drop outside of Weather Events, but others are event-exclusive.

There are only five Mutations in Catch a Monster at the moment, with one of them being entirely cosmetic, at least for now. All new Mutations will be added to the tier list above.

Of course, you can Evolve pets to increase their stats whilst also unlocking additional paths, but you need the specific materials to do so. The rank of the pet also determines the maximum level, all contributing to the overall power of your companions.
