Game Introduction – Card Hunter

Card Hunter is a card-based role playing game developed by Proficientcity. Build your deck of heroes and go on adventures to fight the forces of evil. Gamezebo’s quick start strategy guide will provide you with detailed images, tips, information, and hints on how to play your best game.

Quick Start Guide

Getting Started

  • Card Hunter is free to play, and can be played by clicking the “Play Now!” option at the top of this page.
  • When starting Card Hunter, Gary will lead you through the basics of Card Hunter.

Card Hunter basics

  • The goal of Card Hunter is to fight other players’ monsters, adventure through magical (imaginary) worlds, level up your heroes, and collect new cards.
Card Hunter
  • Cards control everything in Card Hunter, from movements, to spells, to attacks. Hover over a card to see which squares you can reach by playing that card.
Card Hunter
  • Right-click on a card to see what it does. The icon on the bottom left indicates the damage of an attack, while the icon on the bottom right indicates the reach.
Card Hunter
  • If you can’t play a card you want because you’re not close enough, you can either pick a different card, or move your hero with a movement card.
Card Hunter
  • TIP: buy better shoes for your hero, and you will get better movement cards in your deck, allowing you to move further across the board.
  • If you don’t have any cards in hand anymore, or none that are of any use to you at the moment, you can pass on your turn. If the other player also passes, you will both draw new cards. This doesn’t mean you get to be picky though: if the other player chooses to play a card, you will not draw new cards until he or she does.
Card Hunter
  • Per deck of cards, you get to play one card per turn. Normally, each of your heroes has its own deck, which means you get to play a move with each of your heroes once per turn. However, in certain circumstances it is possible for characters, either your own or the enemy’s, to share a deck. In such a case, each of the characters on the board can use the cards in that deck, but only one of the characters gets to play in a turn.

Better cards and equipment

  • After finishing a battle, you can pick up loot from the enemy. Sometimes it will contain useful items, and if you’re lucky, even rare items. But often, the treasure and lower level items have no real use to you. Be sure to visit The Armory or other shops to sell your unwanted loot, and be sure to look around for better equipment you can buy.
Card Hunter
  • The cards you have in your deck depend on the race of your hero, and the equipment he or she is wearing. If you don’t have any equipment, you will only have weak cards in your deck. When you equip equipment, weapons, or armor, you will also get better cards with those.
Card Hunter
  • You can choose to invest more or less in certain equipment for certain heroes, depending on a hero’s strengths and weaknesses. For instance, elves generally have a lot of cards that have long reach, so as an elf you generally will not do as much walking. Thus you don’t have to invest as much in footwear.

  • If you’re not satisfied with one of your heroes, and buying better equipment will still leave you wanting more, be sure to visit taverns across the country to recruit new heroes.
