Find out how to get Broken Blade Runes and which are the best to equip. Obtaining Runes in Broken Blade requires you to farm bosses, who are summoned with Boss Keys.

If you want one of the best weapons in Broken Blade right now, you need to know how to get Crimson Beherits.

Broken Blade Runes

Before you try to get Runes, you should make sure you’re not wasting your precious in-game currency.

How to Get Runes in Broken Blade

One of the methods involves collecting Boss Coins, which you can spend in the Greedy Shop to purchase Runes. The Greedy Shop is located within the Colosseum, accessible via the Nidavellir teleport point.

You can summon bosses to farm Boss Coins with Boss Keys. The number of Boss Keys you need depends on the difficulty of the boss fight and which boss you want to challenge. To note, the Crit Rune isn’t purchasable from the Greedy Shop at the Colosseum.

You gradually earn Boss Coins as you defeat bosses. The better the rewards, the more Boss Coins they cost.

  • Souls Bomb Rune
    • Costs 1K Boss Coins
  • Hell Fire Rune
    • Costs 1.2K Boss Coins
  • Thunder Rune
    • Costs 1.4K Boss Coins
  • Blizzard Rune
    • Costs 1.6K Boss Coins
  • Shadow Clone Rune
    • Costs 1.8K Boss Coins

Aside from the Shadow Clone Rune, the others aren’t worth purchasing from the Greedy Shop.

The second method is to visit Jotunheim and enter the Sky Spire portal. In the dungeon, there’s a chance for Runes to drop, including the Crit Rune, which can drop from the boss at Layer 80.

All Runes

No matter the Rune you equip, you’re granted a passive ability. The majority of these passive abilities rely on chance to be summoned, but there’s one which provides a continuous passive buff.

Souls Bomb

Upon hit, you have a chance to summon 3x Soul Bombs. Each of these Soul Bombs deals 0.5x of your total M1 DMG.

Hell Fire

When hit, there’s a chance for an AoE explosion to be summoned, dealing 1.8x of your total M1 DMG.

Thunder

Grants a chance to summon a powerful Lightning Strike, dealing 2x of your M1 DMG.

Blizzard

There’s a chance for an Aura of Ice to be summoned, dealing M1 DMG per second for 5 seconds.

Shadow Clone

You have a chance to summon 2 Clones, which attack the enemy alongside you, dealing 3x of your M1 DMG.

Crit

Provides a passive ability which increases your Critical DMG and Critical Chance stats.

Best Runes

The consensus, and I agree with it, is that the Crit Rune and Shadow Clone Rune are the best ones to obtain right now. Either one is great, but it depends on whether you’d rather have a continuous buff to your Critical DMG and Critical Rate, or if you want to unlock the ability to summon two clones of yourself.

The others aren’t as popular because their abilities are pretty weak. They all rely on chance, except for the Crit Rune. However, the ability granted by the Shadow Clone outweighs the con of relying on RNG.
