Black Command is a battle simulator created by the incredibly famous Capcom team. In Black Command you take on the role of a grand overseer, commanding your troops from the safety of your smart phone. The aim of the game is simple, help your clients achieve their goals by any means possible.

  • Don’t be afraid of time. There are time limits in Black Command but I really wouldn’t give this too much thought. In the first set of levels, it would be impossible to run out of time unless you actively run away from every enemy unit. So relax and take your time, there is no need to rush headfirst into combat.

  • No seriously, take your time. It’s possible to stop your unit’s movement by clicking on where you told them to go. This means you can be precise about how you want your unit to approach the enemy. You shouldn’t need to use this tip all the time, but if a unit turns around unexpectedly, this is a perfect way to avoid being detected.
  • Stealth is key. If you haven’t noticed already, there is a supreme stealth bonus for approaching enemies from behind. Firstly, the enemy won’t be able to fire at you because their back is turned. Secondly, it won’t consume any of your ammo to attack an enemy from behind. Lastly, it’s also quite fun to add a Metal Gear element to the game, by trying to stealth your enemies.

  • What if I can’t flank the enemy? When an enemy is positioned by a lake or the corner of the map it’s rather impossible to turn up behind them. Furthermore, the enemy usually has a field of vision far larger than yours so stepping foot in this zone is a sure way to take heavy fire. Just before entering the enemy’s field of vision, you should hit the caution button, this will ensure your unit moves slowly and carefully while approaching the enemy. Thereby, ensuring that you are first to attack and have the possibility to kill all their units without taking any damage.
  • Take note of your surroundings. In most maps, there are areas to search beyond just the mission objective. These areas can hold bonus loot, for example, black market weaponry. Or it can have a more immediate impact, for example, a snipers nest or ammo cache. You don’t need to explore these areas if you don’t want to, but it’s normally worth your time to check these areas.

  • Sniper nest knows best. If you have managed to avoid a snipers nest then you are missing out on a serious advantage. As long as you have a sniper in your squad you should be able to wreak havoc on your enemy from miles away. Ordinarily, your field of vision is rather small but, when in a sniper tower your field of vision expands exponentially. Allowing you to pick off multiple enemies from miles away without them returning any fire.
  •  Minimalise risk. I know this may not sound like much of a tip, but you’ve got to remember that if it seems too simple then it might be a trap. If three enemies are facing away from you, and there is a clear path towards them, maybe take a long way around. It would be detrimental to your squad to have all three enemies turn around all at once and fire upon you. Plus it’s not cheap to hire replacements, so try and keep the soldiers you have alive. Yes, it may take more time to go the long way around, but it’s silly to lose units over nothing.

  • Upgrade whenever you can. The first soldier in your squad impacts how wide your field of vision is, so as long as he is equipped with a medium to long range rifle you should be able to engage in combat further away than before. Furthermore, you should be regularly finding weapons on the black market, so it makes sense to add these to your squad. As well, you should keep one sniper in the squad and then you can add and distribute a good mix of weapons amongst the others in the squad.
  • Complete tactical drills. Most of the tactical drills can be completed just by playing the game. But some are worth your time to have a look and aim for. You can click each task to see what it requires and what reward it will give you.
