The consensus for the best Fischfright rod may change depending on the player! However, there are a couple of rods that we can all agree on.
Despite its obtainment method being pretty easy, the Spooky Rod is one of the best Fischfright rods that you can get. When using the Spooky Rod, there are increased Halloween-exclusive mutation chances!
There’s a 10% chance of getting catches with the Frightful mutation, a 10% chance of the Eerie mutation, and a 10% chance of the Spooky mutation. All of these mutations increase the selling value of the catch by 6x.
As well as these three mutation chance buffs, there’s also a 50% chance every second to get a Progress Speed boost of 4% and to freeze the fish for 1 second to make it easy to catch! Even without this possible boost, the Progress Speed of the fishing rod is instantly +5%.
To obtain the Spooky Rod, you need to place 10 Witch Ingredients in the Witch’s Cauldron! To get Witch Ingredients, you need to find Goblins across the map and complete their tasks. There’s an in-game message that appears when a Goblin has spawned, which also tells you where it’s located.
This rod is a great runner-up, as its passive abilities grant you a chance of getting fish with Fischfright-exclusive mutations. There’s a 20% chance for catches to get the Wicked mutation, which increases the selling value by 6.6x, and a 2% chance of getting the Jack’s Curse mutation, increasing the value by 16.6x.
Every second, Jack-o-Lanterns fall from the sky, which increases Progress Speed by 8%. The Jack-o-Blazer rod naturally comes with a +15% Progress Speed buff.
