Auto Chess: Origin is a beautiful example of why the gaming industry is such a success. Combining various genres like real-time strategy, Battle Royale and chess into one neat little bundle is a recipe for disaster. Yet, Auto Chess: Origins does it and does it well!

Tips, Cheats and Strategies

  • Think ahead. Like all strategy or chess based games, the best players are thinking ahead. There is little point buying units because they sound funny, you need to know who to buy and who to avoid. A rule of thumb to follow is to think Battle Royale. Grey is the most common loot, then green, then blue, etc.
  • Collect three. Collecting three units allows you to merge them into one new and more powerful unit. This means if you can’t find a purple unit, merge three greens together to get a unit just as powerful. You should always try to merge three of the same units at all times, so keep your bench free.
  • Check the stats. When you click on a monster, you will see its stats. This includes health, attack damage and various other bits and bobs. If you are not sure why your units keep dying and then check out everyone’s stats. Often the characters with the most HP, also do the most damage (because they don’t die immediately).
  • Position your monsters. Do not throw your pieces down in any Ol’ order you fancy, think ahead. After 20 seconds, enemies will appear at a random point on the chessboard, and if you aren’t prepared, you could die before your troops even know what hit them.
  • Group up. The hardest thing to do in gaming is to kill a group of enemies that are standing yards apart from each other. If you spread your team out, then certain units will deal with multiple enemies before your reinforcements arrive. If you have a good defence, then your offence will also be effective as you will keep all your troops alive.
