As resources are so scarce in Atomic Heart, you’ll often find yourself switching to your favourite melee weapon to save ammo. But which one is the best? We’ve created an Atomic Heart Best Melee weapon guide to attempt to answer this question. We’ll also provide some alternatives in case you don’t bond well with our recommendation.

Atomic Heart is a brand new action RPG set in a strange world, where a fictional 1955 USSR has had an upgrade. The game focuses on the AI assistants, known as the Kollektiv. Due to a technological nightmare, the robots begin attacking Humans, and you’re tasked with stopping them.

For more information about the game, check out the official Atomic Heart website. If you’re looking for more guides, check out our Atomic Heart Enemies guide, Atomic Heart VSync guide, and our Atomic Heart weapons guide.

Atomic Heart Best Melee Guide

We’ll now dive into the guide at hand.

What’s The Best Melee Weapon?

After trying it out ourselves and after looking at several different tier lists, we’ve found the Zvezdochka to be the best melee weapon in Atomic Heart. The simple-looking, blunt weapon is a nasty bite against your enemies thanks to it’s spinning saw found at the head. Additionally, the weapon has good upgrade-mileage, and you’ll be able to take down enemies in one-two hits.

Here’s some stats on the Zvezdochka:

  • Damage: 7
  • Attack Speed: 5
  • Range: 5
  • Charge Damage: 8
  • Charge Speed: 2

How Do You Get The Zvezdochka?

The Zvezdochka is unlocked through crafting. To do this though, you’ll need the blueprint. Unfortunately, the game knows how good the Zvezdochka is, and it saves it for you as the last blueprint you’ll unlock. This means, in order to unlock the weapon, you’ll have to study every single blueprint that comes before it.

After acquiring the blueprint, you’ll need the following resources in order to craft the weapon…

  • 20 Superconductors
  • 162 Metal Parts
  • 16 Chemistry Items

Alternative Melee Weapons

Perhaps the Zvezdochka isn’t for you, or maybe you’re a long way off from unlocking it. So what else should you use?

Below, we’ve listed two decent alternative melee weapons that we recommend you try out…

  • Swede
  • Pashtet
