The Anime Expeditions Dark Mage unit is a hot topic amongst players thanks to his dual-element DPS capabilities. It’s important to note that the Dark Mage is only available for a limited time throughout the Anime Expeditions Villain Invasion Update.

If you manage to get the Dark Mage before the event ends, you may want to change his stats. The Anime Expeditions Wandering Trader sometimes stocks Stat Rerolls and Stat Locks, the perfect items when building your best units.

Anime Expeditions Dark Mage

Also known as Judar from the Magi franchise, the Dark Mage is a highly sought-after DPS unit, using both Lightning and Ice attacks.

How to Get the Dark Mage Unit

Dark Mage is an available unit on the new Villain Banner. He’s a Mythic rarity unit, making him a rare addition to your team. Mythic is the second rarest rarity in the game, with Secret being the rarest. Mythic rarity units have a 0.25% chance of dropping when you summon on the Villain Banner, but with two other Mythic units, you’ve got a lower chance of getting the Dark Mage specifically.

Each roll on the Villain Banner requires 50 Villain Coins, which you can obtain by participating in the Villain Invasion event, Villain Chests, redeeming codes, or by opening Summon Packs. I don’t recommend the Summon Packs method, as it requires you to spend real money to get Robux. Keep in mind that Mythic rarity Villain Coins are a limited-time currency, available only during the Villain Invasion Update.

Villain Chests

A Legendary rarity reward from Villain Hunts, the Villain Chests contain a variety of potential rewards, including Villain Coins. When opening a Villain Chest, there is a 39.9% chance of getting 250 Villain Coins.

To get Villain Chests, you must defeat the event-exclusive bosses during the Villain Hunt Event. Each milestone met rewards you with Villain Chests, starting at 10 defeated bosses and ending at 100. Per milestone, the number of Villain Chests you obtain increases by 5.

Other possible rewards include:

  • 250 Villain Coins
    • 39.9% chance
  • 2 Trait Crystals
    • 10% chance
  • 2 Stat Rerolls
    • 12.5% chance
  • 2 Stat Locks
    • 12.5% chance
  • 2 Equipment Rerolls
    • 12.5% chance
  • 2 Equipment Locks
    • 12.5% chance
  • Crow (Rider) Skin
    • 0.1% chance

Evolving Dark Mage into Sovereign

To evolve the Dark Mage unit into the Dark Mage [Sovereign] unit, you need the following items:

  • 1 Magical Amulet
  • 20 Yellow Sprites
  • 20 Red Sprites
  • 1 Rainbow Sprite
  • 10K Gold

If you haven’t evolved one of your units yet, make sure to visit the Evolve area in the main lobby. From here, you can select which unit you wish to evolve, and as long as you have the required materials, you can go straight ahead.

How to Get the Magical Amulet

The Magical Amulet is an item that you can purchase from the Villain Invasion Shop, costing 5K Villain Coins.

Obtaining Sprites

You may already know this, but you can get Sprites by crafting in Anime Expeditions. They’re also available as rewards when completing Challenge Stage Acts.

Villain Banner

The Villain Banner is only available for a limited time, with the three featured units being: Dark Mage [Judar], Razorjaw [Grimmjow], and Cursed Immortal [Zeref]. To summon on the Villain Banner, you need Villain Coins.
