Age of Magic has just received a massive new update that introduces a ton of new content to the RPG. There are two new single player acts, a rebalance to how silver works, and a mysterious Portal to the Unknown.

There’s also a myriad of raid rebalances, reward improvements, and bug fixes – as you can expect.

In this guide, we’re going to detail all of the changes and explain what they mean for you. If you have any further questions, ask in the comments below and we’ll aim to get back to you.

What do the New Valley of Treasures Acts Reward You?

The Librarian’s story continues in two brand new Valley of Treasures acts, IV and V. Complete these missions and you’ll find shards for the following characters:

  • Troddar
  • Kharannah
  • Grok
  • Ambror
  • Khshaat
  • Raarspit
  • Velundar

You’ll also come across Skill Cubes IV, silver, and equipment pieces for all of your characters.

How Does the Silver Rebalance Work?

Age of Magic players have complained for a while about how stingy the silver rewards are. Well, the developers have finally made some changes to rebalance it. From the patch notes:

Increased the amount of Silver in Chests by a factor of 1.5. The higher the level, the more Silver can be found in Chests. The Chest price is now increased in proportion with the amount of Silver.
Because of that, the equipment price in Silver has also increased by a factor of 1.5.

Rebalanced the amount of Silver in Valley of Treasures.

Increased the amount of Silver in Raids.

Increased the amount of Silver in the Sorcerors Duel 6 challenge by 93%.

Increased the amount of Silver in the Tomb of Horrors by 34%.

According to the developers, the changes will be more apparent to players over level 70. So if you’re still below that right now, you might not notice the change hugely.

What’s This About a New Portal to the Unknown?

The new Portal to the Unknown is designed for players at levels 45 – 55. As a result of it opening, the other Portals have had adjustments to their level requirements.

And Raids Have Been Rebalanced?

Yes, basically a bunch of raids are now easier due to the fact not many players are actually managing to complete them. These include Portals to the Unknown II, III, and IV.

The changes most decrease the difficulty of the most challenging missions and boss fights, while rewarding slightly fewer raid points in certain instances.

What About the Free Chest Reward Improvements?

The free chest has received a bit of a boost because, well, it was a bit naff before. You now have a chance to get Arekhon Undead hero shards, level II equipment, and Valley of Treasures energy.

Which Bugs Have Been Squished?

Here’s a list of the bug fixes from the patch notes:

Boss missions now grant the correct number of Raid points.

Improved the equipment search function.

Quest and clan quest reset timer is now working properly in the German localization.

The hero screen now remains stable after increasing a hero’s rarity level.

Fixed a bug that caused a defeat screen to appear on a double tap on the walkthrough for Memory Spheres.

Armor piercing and magic resistance percentages are now displayed with primarily magical damage for Tsuna and other heroes.

Fixed the visual of Lucky’s Overgrowth ability.

The stats of Zhu Bajie, Maedb, and Kage’s abilities are now displayed correctly.

Minor bug and localization error fixes.
