I’m a big fan of supplementing the realities of our world with that of video game fiction, you see.
Wraithborne tells the tale of a future where the “Age of Humanity” has come to a close, and magic has reared its head once again. The world is filled to the brim with wraiths, goblins, and werewolves, and it’s up to the player to take them out of commission. How will they do that, you ask? By offering up a healthy dose of melee attacks and powerful spells.
Speaking of spells, gaining new magical powers is a huge part of the game. You’ll unlock the ability to do things like heal injuries and attack enemies from afar, and be able to combine spells to form new ones. Additionally, you can update the many spells in your arsenal with the use of “Gems.” Ostensibly, Gems can be earned in-game or purchased with real money.
As the trailer does a fantastic job of showing, Wraithborne boasts quite the impressive graphics. The world in particular looks incredibly detailed, with locations that vary from human-less wastelands to verdant stretches of nature. Hardly a surprise, considering the game is powered by Unreal Engine 3. Were that engine a human being, I would give it a massive hug right this very second.
