Word Wonders: The Tower of Babel Preview

Word Wonders: The Tower of Babel is a word game that lets you grow stronger through the power of letters. That doesn’t mean you physically fling Scrabble tiles at your rivals, though it does sting when one of those suckers gets in your eye. Instead, you’re forced to demonstrate your spelling prowess against dozens of monsters—and man, if there’s one thing bad guys don’t tolerate, it’s a breach of “‘I’ Before ‘E'”.

Word Wonders: The Tower of Babel

Word Wonders: The Tower of Babel is based on the legend of (guess what) the Tower of Babel. In peaceful times, humanity spoke one language, came together, and decided to build a tower to Heaven in hopes of checking out the real estate. The gods weren’t thrilled with this idea, and decided to have a bit of fun by breaking up the one true language into a bunch of smaller dialects. The cooperation driving the Tower project immediately fell apart, and the sudden presence of language barriers sparked wars between the nations.

You play as a young hero who hopes to restore the ancient tongue. You climb up fifty levels of the tower and bring down its ancient guardians by spelling at them. You can earn power-ups to inflict more damage, unlock abilities and spells, and collect gold to buy healing potions and buffs. If the idea of taking on God in a spelling bee intimidates you, you can also play Word Wonders: The Tower of Babel one-on-one against a friend.

Word Wonders: The Tower of Babel hits the App Store in November. Watch your spelling! Your life depends on it.
