Here’s an interesting social science tidbit: A lot of lottery winners don’t do well. They squander their jackpots in record time, then wind up folding shirts in a Wal-Mart to make ends meet.

The same breed of problem haunts the hapless main character of Wizards and Wagons, an upcoming “fantasy trading game” from Touch Dimensions (the studio that gave us Autumn Dynasty). Though the monster-killing hero was flush with cash when the Dark Lord reigned supreme, peaceful times have caused his steady trickle of gold coins to dry up. He is rich no more.

The hero’s going to need a new job to survive. And what’s always in demand, whether there be peace or war? Goods!

In Wizards and Wagons, you fit as many items into your transport as possible before hitting the road and delivering the load to other towns. But you can’t just throw a cow into your wagon and call it a day. You also need to find a way to defend your wagon, since even low-level loser monsters left over from the bad ol’ days will make mincemeat of you if given half the chance. They really like cows and apples.

So move quickly. But have a plan. And arm yourself well. It’s not glamorous, but it’s good, honest work.

Look for Wizards and Wagons to hit the App Store on November 12th.
