Sirvo Studios has just announced Guildlings, a “a fantasy adventure in a world of wizards and wifi” that’s headed to mobile in 2017. We really don’t know anything else about it, but I’ll be damned if I’m not excited regardless.

Why be excited about a project we know seemingly nothing about? For one thing, the name “Sirvo Studios” sounds an awful lot like “Sirvo LLC,” the company that was responsible for hit mobile puzzler Threes. And this is more than a mere etymological curiosity. Sirvo Studios is comprised of seven team members, one of whom is Asher Vollmer, aka one-half of the team behind Threes. (It’s co-creator, Greg Wohlwend, is conspicuously absent).

In addition to Threes, Vollmer has created a number of notable projects in recent years, from the peasant simulator Royals to the we-can’t-believe-it’s-still-not-out-yet Close Castles. Judging from the size of the team and the 2017 target date, Guildlings looks like it could be Vollmer’s biggest project yet.

The little info we have at this point consists of the concept art above and the smattering of text below:

We know a place where mages run raves,

harpies haunt the suburbs,

and a road trip can save the world.

Cross your fingers that more news, images, and details continue to leak out over the coming year.
