Volcano Escape Preview

There are few things as disappointing in life as a spoiled vacation. Maybe the airline lost your luggage. Maybe the hotel overbooked. Maybe the natives have taken you captive and have thrown you in a volcano as a human sacrifice. That last holiday-related annoyance is exactly what happened to Colonel Charlie Bravo, star of Bravo Game Studios’ upcoming action platformer Volcano Escape.

Help Colonel Charlie escape a perilous pit of lava in the upcoming platformer Volcano Escape

Players will help Charlie escape his fateful final moments as a tasty treat to the lava gods by blasting everything in sight. Unlike most action platformers though, the action side of things really helps to serve the platforming side, as shooting minions will turn them into solid rock which then form the platforms for Colonel Charlie to leap to as he tries to make his way out of the volcano.

Little more is known about the title at this time, but the developers have confirmed that jetpacks, grenade launchers and shotguns will be available as part of Charlie’s arsenal. The game will also feature Game Center integration, Retina Display support for the iPhone 4, upgrades, and 5 unlockable characters.

Volcano Escape Review

Based on what I've learned from popular media, I am never, ever, going to visit the tropics. It's full of angry natives. And volcanoes. And, according to Volcano Escape, a new action-platformer from Bravo Game Studios, I'm liable to get thrown into a volcano by a bunch of angry natives. Sadly, the game isn't nearly as fun as this concept sounds.

Escape Goat 2 Review

Released in late 2011 for the Xbox 360 and then in the summer of 2012 for the PC, Escape Goat was a quirky puzzle-platformer about both a goat imprisoned in a deadly, trapped-filled dungeon for the crime of practicing witchcraft, and an immortal, magical mouse who helps him escape. Quirky, and also very good if you like that sort of thing, although not particularly easy on the eyes: I noted in my review that the retro-style graphics were "adequate for the task but not much else."Escape Goat 2 is "problem solved," as they say. It's essentially the original Escape Goat all over again, but with more puzzles - more than 100 in total - and a very pleasing visual update. The Goat is back, imprisoned again along with his magic Mouse buddy and a flock of not-terribly-motivated sheep, this time deep within the Stronghold of Toragos. None have ever escaped - but you're the Escape Goat!
