Nintendo’s Advance Wars series of turn-based strategy games shows off the lighter side of war. Well, except for 2008’s Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. That baby’s pretty grim.

Point is, Advance Wars games are hard to come by these days, and mobile game developers are moving in to fill the niche. One such game you can look forward to is Super Senso, which should appear in 2016.

Super Senso is the first game from TURBO, a team composed of former developers from  Nintendo, Sony, Riot, Square-Enix, Blizzard and CCP Games. You get to collect and customize mech warriors, including tanks, robo-ninjas, mecha-dinosaurs, and lots more.

Then you get to unleash those mechs against your enemies, because what are you going to do with them otherwise? Admire them from afar?

Super Senso has a special focus on PvP combat with its synchronous competitive play. In the game’s press release, TURBO states it’s collaborating with players from prominent esports teams to help set up post-launch tournament activities.

Feel like re-arranging someone’s face with the aid of a mech? You’ll get your chance on iOS and Android next year, when Super Senso launches as a free-to-play title. If you’re super-stoked about the idea of getting violent as soon as possible, however, you can sign up to be a beta tester.
