I’ve developed something of a minor obsession with pinball in recent months. It started with PinOut, continued with Pinball FX2 VR, and now I’m gobbling up just about every tableĀ I can find. Luckily, there’s been no shortage lately (Snowball!, PinPop VEGAS, that Ghostbusters machineĀ at my local bowling alley) — and the number of choicesĀ will grow again next week with the release of Super Hyper Ball 2.

The sequel to a 2015 game that seems to have slipped through the cracks here at Gamezebo, Super Hyper Ball 2 promises a mix of pinball and Breakout-style brick-breaking. And considering my love for last year’s Smashy Brick, as well as that great Arkanoid port on FacebookĀ Messenger, this sounds like a better combo to my ears than even peanut butter and jelly.

Of course, plenty of games have tried to combine brick-breaking and pinball before, and we’ve yet to playĀ a gameĀ that manages to find a winning balance. You need great brick-breaking, but also solid pinball physics. Sacrificing one in favor of the other will never work, so we’re going to keep our fingers crossed that Super Hyper Ball 2 has managed to find that sweet spot.

We won’t have to wait long to find out. Super Hyper Ball 2 will hit the App Store on January 12th.
