Considering the Angry Birds Epic crossover in Sonic Dash that took place earlier this summer, I suppose it was inevitable that we’d be treated to an appearance of everyone’s favorite blue blur in the avian RPG too.
Pocket Gamer is reporting that, at the recent Respawn game developers event in Cologne, Angry Birds Epic project lead Elllen Lysen Einarsen (of developer Chimera Entertainment) revealed the game’s next update will feature “a special Sonic Dash-themed map, complete with loop-the-loops and other Sonic The Hedgehog style paraphernalia.”
No Sonic-specifics have been revealed beyond that, but Einarsen also confirmed that the same update will introduce new classes, skills, gear, weapon enchanting and world boss events. Expect the update to hit the App Store and Google Play sometime later this month.
We’re kind of digging the whole Angry Birds/Sonic crossover vibe. Let’s hold out hope we see this spill into other games — who wouldn’t to set The Blues loose in Sonic 2’s Casino Night Zone?
