Soldiers Inc. Preview

It’s getting pretty amazing to see how far the world of Facebook games has come from the old cartoony farm. Case in point, Soldiers Inc., a gritty new wartime experience that looks like it should be turning heads on a home gaming console instead, rather than a popular social media platform. The game comes from Plarium, whose past Facebook titles such as Total Domination and Stormfall: Age of War make no mistake that the growing developer is no stranger to the hardcore gaming crowd.

All is fair in love and Facebook war.

Already being billed as a full-fledged franchise, Soldiers Inc. is a multiplayer real-time strategy game that’s set in the conflicted near-future of 2019, where players and their fellow mercenary recruits are deployed to the failed state of Zandia, in order to claim as much of the land and hidden resources as possible. Of course, you won’t be the only one who’s looking to reap the rewards for your high-paying client: foreign powers, multinational companies, and underground criminal organizations will all have a hand in making sure they win this new business-fuelled war.

To give the game an even bigger and emotional punch, Plarium has also enlisted the help of Jesper Kyd to score the game’s soundtrack, whose award-winning past accolades as a composer include his work on the hugely successful Assassin’s Creed, Borderlands, and Hitman console franchises. You can hear a bit of Kyd’s craftsmanship in the Soldiers Inc. debut teaser trailer at the top of this page, along with some (seriously stunning) cinematics that feature big guns and even bigger explosions.

Soldiers Inc.

This all sounds like a pretty ambitious undertaking, especially for a console game, which makes it all the more impressive that Soldiers Inc. is strictly a Facebook release! Plarium plans to tackle head-on the way we think of Facebook games, with Chief Executive Officer of Plarium, Avi Shalel, explaining how the upcoming game “delivers gameplay, storyline, graphics, sound and music in social gaming unlike the industry or players have ever seen.”

Soldiers Inc. is set to deploy onto the free-to-play and maritime state of Facebook in the coming weeks, and aspiring mercenaries are encouraged to visit the game’s official website for more information about when their mission will begin.
