Have you played Noby Noby Boy? That game is all sorts of sketchy. In a more literal sense, there’s Miniclip’s upcoming iOS game Sketchman. Do you see where I’m going with this? Love the pun. Sketchman is an action-platformer featuring a surprisingly crisp-looking doodle art aesthetic. I say surprising as I’ve seen many developers commit to a very somber appearance when dealing with a similar style of graphics. Miniclip, on the other hand, has taken more of a vibrant route. It’s a good thing!
The game’s main character loves himself some guns, so expect to be firing at enemies of all shapes and sizes. Some of them will be bosses, but many of them will just be jerks who want to kill you. It’s hard out there for a guy who looks like he was drawn with a ballpoint pen.
If you’re not a fan of shooting at virtual people, you’ll have a host of other missions to focus on instead, the completion of which will net you coins. And as they say: Missions and coins are the best medicine (behind Aspirin and just about everything else you’d find in a pharmacy, of course).
The game will arrive on June 28th, a date that will surely go down in history as one of the sketchiest. Why do people say that certain things are sketchy, anyway? That’s a question I hope Sketchman will answer. And now that I’ve used the word “sketch” so many times it looks and sounds funny to me, I’ll let you go now.
