Oh, and both the boy and girl are robots. OK, maybe it isn’t the oldest story in the book. But it’s the story of Roboto, a new platformer due out on iOS and Android devices.

Oh, and both the boy and girl are robots. OK, maybe it isn’t the oldest story in the book. But it’s the story of Roboto, a new platformer due out on iOS and Android devices.
Players control Roboto, “a typical awkward teen robot boy” who falls in love with a female robot that suddenly disappears while he’s crushing on her. Naturally, it’s up to the little hero to chase her across the galaxy.
Essentially this is an action platformer, but it looks like it’s going to feature some pretty innovative level designs. Roboto rides a rocket board across thirty different levels, with a ton of acrobatic puzzles to conquer and six weapon types that he can use to blast enemies throughout his adventures (not to mention the bosses he has to battle, too). Oh, and Roboto is going to do all this in style.
Style is definitely something this game looks like it has in spades. The graphics in the trailer look absolutely wonderful, full of color, whimsy, and creativity. The levels on display show a lot of brilliant design choices, with goofy characters and engaging backgrounds. On top of that, the game is reportedly going to feature a punk rock soundtrack, which seems like a perfect fit for a game with such a delightfully ridiculous premise.
Roboto looks like it’s going to be fast-paced, fun, and packed to the gills with quality. The game is doesn’t have a definite release date, yet, but the plan is to get it out sometime this summer.
