Earlier this month we learned that Playfish would be expanding from Facebook to mobile with a brand new version of Restaurant City, dubbed Restaurant City: Gourmet Edition. At the time no real details were announced. And, unfortunately, we still haven’t managed to pester Playfish into revealing specifics about the game. But at least we have a pair of screenshots.

From the looks of things, Gourmet Edition will have much in common with the Facebook version of Restuarant City, with the same colorful art style and isometric perspective. It also appears that you’ll still be both collecting ingredients and trading them with friends, presumably through the use of Facebook Connect or some other social network like Game Center.
But that’s about all we can tell, really. The game appears to be following the same formula as CityVille Hometown, which took a popular Facebook experience and tweaked it to fit on a mobile device.
No release date has been announced yet for Restaurant City: Gourmet Edition.
