Ravensword: Shadowlands Preview

Three years is a long time to wait for a follow-up to a hit mobile game, but in the case of Ravensword 2 it may very well be worth it. Screenshots of the upcoming iOS action-RPG are absolutely stunning, as the game takes full advantage of new technology like multi-core CPUs and Retina displays to generate the kind of visuals you’d expect to see from a contemporary console RPG.

Ravensword 2 is still in the works, and looking better than ever

Three years is a long time to wait for a follow-up to a hit mobile game, but in the case of Ravensword 2 it may very well be worth it. Screenshots of the upcoming iOS action-RPG are absolutely stunning, as the game takes full advantage of new technology like multi-core CPUs and Retina displays to generate the kind of visuals you’d expect to see from a contemporary console RPG.

Enemies in the game currently include boars, orcs, trolls and even velociraptors, and fights against “boss monsters” like yetis and demons will also be featured. Players will do battle with them using an array of melee and ranged weapons, from swords and clubs to blunderbuss rifles, in combat that promises to be easier and more accessible than in the original game.

Despite all the time that’s passed since the release of the original Ravensword, Ravensword 2 is still in the development stage. It’s impossible to make any judgments about the gameplay at this point but if the visual fidelity is indicative of the overall game quality, it should be nothing short of amazing. This is definitely one to keep an eye on.
