Shuffleboard and Pinball are a few of the greatest arcade games of all time. The upcoming Puckerz! for the iPhone wonders what would happen if you combined the two.
Much like in pinball, players will launch a puck out into a field of bumpers, knocking into anything and everything along the way. Each individual item has a score attached to it, and will activate when bumped into.
Unlike pinball, however, is the unique way certain items will disappear after just being bumped into once. Depending on where your puck lands, you also have the potential for a bonus as well.
Other unique twists are in place to liven up the experience. Players can re-shoot a puck after launching it if it lands back in the launch pad, for example. Red pads are placed on the board as well, and players should try to avoid them as they will take the puck out of play immediately. Power tokens can also be found and collected to start some wild moves, such as making your puck move extremely fast, scoring players a ton of points in the process.
Sporting glittery, shiny graphics and spanning several levels, Puckerz! looks to bring back those arcade memories of the past, but with a bit of a twist. For players who just can’t wait to get their hands on Puckerz!, they don’t have long to go. This one is expected to hit the App Store in February 2011.
