PewDiePie is, for lack of a better word, a phenomenon. He’s the biggest YouTuber there is, arguably made Flappy Bird a hit, and even had a cameo in a South Park episode that parodied, well… PewDiePie.

Love him or hate him, you can’t deny the impact he’s had on video games. So I suppose he’s long overdue for a video game of his own.

PewDiePie: Legend of the Bro Fist is a 2D platformer from developer Outerminds that, according to Pocket Gamer, is headed to iOS and Android this summer. The game is still in development, but from what we’ve seen in the video PewDiePie released this week it’s looking quite sharp. As someone who grew up on old school, cartridge-based platformers, it’s hard to not be impressed by what’s on display here.

If you’re a fan of PewDiePie (and YouTubers in general), you’ll be pleased to know there will be plenty of little nuggets and cameos tucked away to tickle your fancy. If you’re too old to have really figured out the appeal of YouTubing (like the author of this post), you’ll no doubt be excited by the retro platforming goodness that Outerminds is trying to create here.

In short, there’s a little something for everyone.

Keep an eye out for PewDiePie: Legend of the Bro Fist when it hits mobile devices sometime this summer.
