By Erin Bell |

Legacy Interactive is getting ready to release the next game in the Pet Pals series, Pet Pals: New Leash on Life, as a PC download at on October 1.

The game lets animal lovers step into the shoes of a veterinarian to diagnose and treat more than 15 different breeds of dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and exotic animals like iguanas and chinchillas.

New Leash On Life also gives aspiring vets a chance to become more involved in the animals’ lives. In addition to solving more than 30 cases, you must also care for the pets by grooming and feeding them. In the adoption phase, you’ll prepare pets for adoption and find them the perfect homes, then speak to their adoptive owners who call to give feedback on their new pets.

Other new features include a daily task system and weekly schedule; increasing difficulty as the game progresses; a rewards system including trophies, answering machine messages and staff encouragement; the opportunity to play bonus mini-games and trivia quizzes on the office computer; and the ability to interact with fellow rescue workers.
