“So … if Mean Girls is so influential over pop culture, why doesn’t it have a video game?”

“Oh my God Karen, you can’t just ask people why they don’t have a video game.”*

Paramount Pictures’ hit movie Mean Girls turned 10 in 2014, but as you might expect from a celebration involving teenagers, the party isn’t over yet. There’s at least one more big piece of news to commemorate the event: A social / mobile iOS game from So Much Drama Studios.

Mean Girls mobile is described as a “tiara defense game,” which sounds more than a perfect fit for its subject matter. The game begins with the original Plastics minding their own business, only to soon discover they’re in danger of being usurped by an invading Plastics clique that has pieced together the broken Spring Fling tiara.

There are several different game modes to attempt: You Can’t Sit With Us, Social Suicide, She Doesn’t Even Go Here, and The Limit Does Not Exist. Several playable characters from the movie make an appearance, including Cady, Regina, Gretchen, Karen, Janis, Damian, Aaron, and Kevin.

No set release date has been announced for the Mean Girls game, but we’re betting it’ll be released on a very pink Wednesday. Or a traditional App Store Thursday. Either or.

*(Note: Mean Girls had another video game in the long ago and far away, but it’s no longer on the App Store. That sucks like a certain someone’s nail beds.)
