Office Heroes: Bringing the daily commute to your iPhone

Working in an office can be a dull, tedious experience. But it can also be a great way to climb the corporate ladder, put your nose to the grindstone, and remain socially-engaged. Office Heroes, the upcoming social iPhone game from Astro Ape Studios, is set to offer players all the best that the daily grind has to offer.

The game will be similar in structure to a variety of Facebook games on the market, offering players the change to start tasks and return later in the day to claim their rewards. Players will complete tasks that range from productive to personal, tackling everything from graphing and collating to gossiping on the phone, tweeting, and playing solitaire. The tasks that are available to you will depend on a number of factors, including your current level and which pieces of office equipment you own. A coffee maker, for example, would trigger different tasks than a filing cabinet.

Office Heroes is also promising future office drones a wide range of customization, allowing players to decorate their offices however they see fit. Players will also be able to customize their avatars appearance, which they can change at any time. From suits and ties to wacky options like “Office Ninja” and “Office Pirate,” the clothing options will run the gamut.

Once a player feels comfortable in their new office, they can pay a visit to someone else’s. Using Facebook Connect as their backbone, Office Heroes will let you add Facebook friends who are also playing the game, and then visit their offices to help them with their tasks.

Can’t wait to tackle the daily commute? Office Heroes is expected to debut for free on the App Store July 22nd.
