In a move that feels like something I’ve been waiting years for, beloved top-down racing game Micro Machines is making its way to iOS later this year. This announcement being extra exciting given there’s not much left of this year.
The Chillingo published game will be from the franchise’s original developer, Codemasters, and a very brief trailer suggests it’s going to be everything you want.
You’ll be racing between various oversized obstacles, such as pencils and books, while driving across desks, kitchen tables, and ovens. Micro Machines looks likely to be maintaining the same charming vibe that worked so well in the past. One screenshot suggests there might even be some combat involved, a la Mario Kart.
We’ll know more when it’s released later this year. Just remember – be excited. This could be special.
