An exclusive look at MargaritaVille’s dark party caves

The upcoming MargaritaVille Online tasks players with creating a beach oasis, but there’s more to the game than just sun and surf. Like caverns, for instance. And party pirates. Here Gamezebo gets an exclusive early look at John LaFeet’s Party Caves, where the game gets a little bit darker. But of course it still knows how to party.

The cavern area is part of a quest line featuring LaFeet, better known as king of the party pirates. During the quest you’ll be exploring Fort Tortuga in search for the secret anti-oasis. You’ll have to avoid the party pirates while solving puzzles, collecting treasure, and, of course, partying.

In addition to the party caverns, the 3D virtual world of MargaritaVille Online will also feature a tropical island to explore, the ability to sail the open seas, and plenty of mini-games to play. No release date has been announced yet, but the game is listed as “coming soon.”

Wasting away in MargaritaVille … Online

Celebrity appearances in Facebook games are nothing new. We’ve seen everything from Lady Gaga in FarmVille to Jamie Oliver in Restaurant City. But a whole game based around not just a celebrity, but a single song? That’s something new. And that’s exactly what THQ is doing with MargaritaVille Online, an upcoming social game based on the song by Jimmy Buffett.

The game will task players with creating a “beach oasis,” which includes setting up bars, joining bands, and throwing crazy parties. It’s loosely inspired by Buffett himself, and even features a soundtrack of his songs to go along with the bright, colorful 3D visuals.

“The Margaritaville laidback state of mind is inherently social, and THQ has captured the spirit of that lifestyle in this game,” Buffett said. “With MargaritaVille Online, fans across the globe can party together any time and any place.”

The game is expected to launch this Fall, and more details will be revealed in early June at the annual E3 gaming convention. In the meantime, check out the huge gallery of screenshots below.
