If you prefer your puzzle games with a dash of stress and a pinch of mayhem then look no further than Magical Drop V, a fast-paced and skill-testing multiplayer puzzle game coming soon from UTV Ignition Games that promises to refresh a franchise that has been going strong for more than a decade.

Debuting 16 years ago in Japanese arcades, the Magical Drop series features gameplay similar to marble-popping games like Puzzle Bobble. In Magical Drop V players must create chains of balls – three of a kind – in order to send them to their opponent’s puzzle screen, and erase enough on their own to clear the level and claim victory.

The game will allow up to four players to go head-to-head through local or online multiplayer. Relying on fast action and quick thinking to create combos, players must be aware that if the line of balls reaches the bottom of their screen, the game is over.

Additionally, Magical Drop V will feature redrawn high definition animated graphics, a brand new gameplay mode, remixed music, and more than 15 quirky characters to play as.

The Magic Drop series spans from the Neo · Geo to the PlayStation gaming systems, with the most recent release on the iPhone in 2009 titled Magical Drop Touch. Magical Drop V will be available on PC in late 2011, with additional platforms being announced at a later date.
