Naturally, this sort of thing lends itself to all kinds of exciting stories, including, very soon, a tale of the infamous Judge Dredd.

He is the law in Mega-City One, but in Judge Dredd: Countdown Sector 106, a routine patrol takes a turn for the unexpected when he discovers that the mysterious “Voices of Dredd” have fallen into the hands of the local perps. What are “Voices of Dredd?” I don’t know! What’s part of what makes it all so exciting!
Also exciting is the promotional trailer which, despite being a bit short on gameplay, looks and sounds absolutely fantastic. The art style is dead-on, and players will have plenty of opportunities to apply the harsh, unerring hand of the law with skill rolls based on weapons, fitness levels and “perceived authority.”
Numerous achievements will be spread throughout the book, as will “perp record sheets” that automatically update with background information when a criminal is taken down – one way or the other. The whole thing is lavishly illustrated with an art style that’s perfectly true to the Judge Dredd aesthetic, and even features a full soundtrack and sound effects that can be toggled off for those late-night, under-the-blanket reading sessions.
Judge Dredd: Countdown Sector 106 is a universal app with a custom e-book interface that’s designed to be easy to use and, on the iPad, can be read in either landscape or portrait mode. And since it’s a virtual book, you’ll even be able to insert virtual bookmarks so you can pop back a page and make a better choice if you happen to choose badly somewhere along the line. Based on the pre-release information, the latest and possibly greatest Gamebook Adventure looks like it has the potential to be truly fantastic.
We won’t have to wait long to find out: Judge Dredd: Countdown Sector 106 is expected to come out asap.
