The coolest weapon in Monster Dash gets it’s own game in Halfbrick’s upcoming Machine Gun Jetpack

Barry Steakfries is back, and this time he has a jetpack! Halfbrick has revealed their third game with the protagonist, Machine Gun Jetpack, and it looks like things are going to be just as ridiculous as ever. Possibly even moreso.

The basic idea is that Barry has gotten ahold of an experimental jetpack (with machine guns, obviously) from a lab at Maxtreme Industries, and now has to pilot the crazy thing to freedom (and the land of Awesome) There are many obstacles in the way, like lasers, fields of electricity, and missile launchers, so Mr. Steakfries has his work cut out for him.

Players use a single tap to control the character’s height as he flies across the screen. Of course the high-speed action is even crazier, thanks to vehicle pickups and coins that can be used to purchase upgrades. Some of the upgrades are solely cosmetic (like new outfits), while others can make gameplay a lot easier (such as shield upgrades).

Halfbrick is planning to add a slew of extra content to the game’s store (which is reportedly already going to be filled with content) after Machine Gun Jetpack is released. The developer hasn’t announced a release date or a price point, yet, but it seems safe to assume that the game will hit the App Store within the near future.

Who would’ve imagined they’d take the coolest weapon in Monster Dash and flesh it out into a game?
