Jane Austen’s Rogues and Romance comes to Facebook this March

Do you enjoy English literature but find yourself thinking, “I wish this were available on Facebook?” Will fret no more oh highborn nobleperson, as BBC Worldwide will soon be releasing the Legacy developed Jane Austen’s Rogues and Romance on the platform. The game is set to feature Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice fame, and will follow their lives after their wedding.

Jane Austen's Rogues and Romance

The game is described as a hidden object adventure, wherein players will be able to “take their place in society leaving calling cards, attending and hosting receptions and pursuing courtships.” Players will also get to decorate their own manor house and dress up the Darcy’s in all manner of fashionable, yet highly uncomfortable, period-specific garb.

Since there’s no mention of zombies anywhere in the press release I doubt that I will personally play the game, but Jane Austen commands an incredible following amongst lovers of literature and I’m sure the game won’t need the likes of me to help it find significant success. The game is promising to “celebrate the world of Jane Austen,” so anyone who reads one of her books and finds themselves opining for the days of a proper English courtship and the life of the nobility will likely be very pleased. And who knows, maybe they did slip a zombie level in there somewhere. If so, I have changed my mind and plan to play the game forthwith!

Expect the public beta of this one to arrive sometime in mid-March.
