Another big Apple press event, another chance for Epic Games to take the stage and unveil an entry in their much-beloved Infinity Blade series. To coincide with the announcement of the third generation iPad today, Epic took to the stage to proudly show off a third release of their own – Infinity Blade: Dungeons.
Infinity Blade: Dungeons will tell the tale of the days before the Infinity Blade weapon was forged, and unlike its predecessors, it appears to take a more traditional hack’n’slash action RPG approach to gameplay. It’s the sort of style that typically lends itself much better to a physical controller, so it should be interesting to see what Epic has cooked up in terms of a control scheme.
Not many details exist outside of what you see above, but it looks like we’ll get a break from the series inventive slash action combat in Dungeons – quite frankly, it could be a welcome break for gamers looking for something different from the franchise.
No word yet on when we can expect to see this, but we’ll be sure to bring you more news on Infinity Blade: Dungeons as soon as we can.
