You wouldn’t expect to turn to a solitaire game for stories of passion and romance, but that’s exactly what 2008’s Heartwild Solitaire delivered. According to developer Orchid Games you can expect more of the same – and three times the content – when the follow-up Heartwild Solitaire: Book Two launches next month. Keep reading for the scoop.

Just like in the first game, Heartwild Solitaire: Book Two‘s card-based gameplay is intertwined with the chapters of a romance story. This time the story is told by Binky – a character from the first game – who works as a maid by day but an artist’s model by night.

 Book Two

As the game begins, Binky’s once comfortable life has started to crumble. Rejected by her secret lover and betrayed by her employer, she turns to tarot cards for guidance. This time, however, players can influence the events. At several critical points in the story they will be asked to choose a particular path to travel, each leading through a different set of levels.

The solitaire part of the game offers a couple of new features as well, including rules that are slightly more challenging, and bonus rounds that will give players a chance to increase their score significantly.

With a branching story that offers four endings, and 280 levels to beat, Heartwild Solitaire: Book Two is three times as big as the first game. The game is scheduled for release in March, 2010.
