Puzzle-adventure Happily Ever After takes a modern look at fairytales

Following in the footsteps of modern fairytale interpretations like Fairy Godmother Tycoonand Big Brain Wolfcomes Happily Ever After, a puzzle adventure plenty of contemporary humor and twists. The game is set to release on iPad, PC and Mac later this month.

Happily Ever After takes place in the contemporary fairytale kingdom of Unbelievaville. After receiving a series of strange emails to your problem solving blog you find yourself trapped in the Kingdom. Following a hostile encounter with the Evil Queen, your only way home is to help out the cast of familiar fairytale characters with unfamiliar problems.

These inhabitants include BB Wolff – the local smarmy, estate agent and apparent master of disguise, Goldilocks, a special girl with very particular tastes and an oafish, lazy prince who is charming only by name. Your adventure ends at the annual Unbelievaville “Know Talent” contest; will you find your way home or suffer the Evil Queen’s “hex” factor?

The game is set across 24 levels with more than 100 different puzzles, which encompass a variety of genres including hidden object, logic games, mazes, spot the difference, riddles, and arcade-style mini-games. The game also offers comic book style visuals, and a Story Mode with multiple endings and a script penned by Childrens’ BBC script writer Hannah McKay.

Happily Ever After is developed by BAFTA winners Honeyslug, and is being published by Boiled Frog.
