If Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan, and Shakira can have their own games, then gosh darn’it, Katy Perry deserves one too.

At least, that’s how Glu feels on the matter.

Arguably best known as the creators of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, Glu’s latest venture into celebrity-focused mobile games involves players rising from an unknown singer to the glory of pop music stardom, alongside Katy Perry herself. Or, rather, a little cartoon version of Katy Perry that probably shows you how to play the game and makes occasionally sassy remarks about life in the music industry.

With hundreds of wardrobe options, players can get their avatar all fancy and ready for their big debut, hopefully churning out a pop music sensation in the process. Proper attire is necessary, as players will have to produce flashy music videos to really build up their name brand in order to consistently expand their following.

Katy Perry Pop

An interesting element that Glu is adding into Katy Perry Pop is “Katy Vision” which, as I understand it, warps reality and shows players all sorts of cutesy critters.

Glu’s partnership with Katy Perry was announced back in February — and she’s not the only new celebrity they’re courting, either. They’ve recently released a sniper game starring Jason Statham, and have titles in the works featuring Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj and the Jenner sisters.

Katy Perry Pop is currently in soft-launch in Sweden, Norway, and Switzerland on the App Store. Aspiring pop stars elsewhere will have to wait a bit longer before they can get their chance to shine.
