Farmer’s Market takes place – where else? – at a market, where you’ll set up and manage different stalls to sell food-related goods. We didn’t get to see all of them in the preview demo Fugazo sent us, but let’s just say that there are a lot, from staples like dairy, milled flour and meat to treats like waffles, pies and ice cream.
The goal in each of the 60 levels, which take place across six different locations, is to complete various goals and earn enough money to advance. Here’s the thing, though: it’s not as simple as just building the requisite stalls and selling a certain number of each product. Just like the real world, certain vendors depend on each other in order to make their products. In order to make baked bread, for example, the baker needs flour from the miller and milk from the dairy seller. To make hotdogs, you need that bread plus meat from the butcher. And so on.
There are also a fixed number of spots that you can build stalls on, so building the correct ones and tearing down the ones you don’t need any more becomes a bit of a juggling act.
Farmer’s Market comes in two modes: relaxed (take as long as you like), and challenge (the levels are timed).
