Social farming games may be declining in popularity, but that isn’t stopping developer Mail.Ru Games from attempting to kickstart the genre with the browser game Farm Kingdom. With the addition of mini-games and a intriguing storyline this isn’t just another FarmVille clone.
It does include some standard features, however, letting players plant and harvest crops and tend to farm animals. And as a social game Farm Kingdom of course lets you lend a helping hand to your friends playing as well.
But when all the farm work is done the game offers up four mini-games to keep players busy: fishing, cooking, building, and digging for resources. Throw in some terrific production values and Farm Kingdom just might have what it takes to lure in farming holdouts.
“With its new features, Farm Kingdom brings a breath of fresh air to the genre and thus differs greatly from its competitors,” Alexander Goldybin, CEO of Mail.Ru Games GmbH, explained. “We especially think the gameplay with several mini-games and its ever-present storyline around creating your very own kingdom will inspire players.”
The game just launched its open beta today.
