Egg Punch Preview

For a long time now, I’ve had a theory that golf would be infinitely more interesting to watch and play if it were a full-contact sport. There’d be no time to stand around and analyze the banks and traps and wind, and whatever else they’re doing out there that doesn’t involve just hitting the darn ball towards the hole. Golfers would have to just react and swing their clubs since there’s no doubt that if they didn’t, there’d be someone leaping through the air at them with all intentions of severing their head from their body. While the upcoming iOS mini golf game Egg Punch has a great action verb in its title, my dreams of Full Contact Golf (copyright pending) will have to be sidelined for now.

Egg Punch mini-putts its way to the App Store this December

For a long time now, I’ve had a theory that golf would be infinitely more interesting to watch and play if it were a full-contact sport. Egg Punch
Egg Punch

Despite it violent-sounding name, Egg Punch appears to be a pretty straight-forward mini golf game. There’s plenty of creativity to the 54 levels that will find you leaping from platform to platform, bouncing off walls, finding shortcuts, tackling rabbits and more. The goal isn’t just as simple as getting the egg in the hole in the shortest amount of turns, you’re also trying to rack up as many points as possible and collect your stolen feathers along the way.

Those 54 levels are evenly split amongst six differently-themed worlds to keep things interesting and give you plenty to do. Use the coins you amass in the shop to gather power-ups that give you an edge when playing through the game. Egg Punch aims to be a family-friendly and fun romp through a colorful and silly mini-golf world. Find out for yourself when the game launches as a free download in the iOS app store on December 1st.
