That money isn’t going to rob itself, you know.

Candygun Games, the folks behind last year’s Dead Block, have partnered with publisher Kalypso Media to release their upcoming title Dollar Dash. The game will challenge players to prove their worth as virtual thieves, going head-to-head against others in competitive heist scenarios.

The endgoal of Dollar Dash is to nab the most money on a given map and deposit it in a getaway van before it disappears. As you might have guessed, your opponents will be simultaneously attacking you and trying to pull off the same thing. It’s going to be intense, but the game’s cartoon-y visual style ought to keep things nice and cheerful.

Customization and personalization will be a big part of the game, and the trailer shows enough hats and beards to make even a Team Fortress 2 player jealous. There will also be several perks, taunts, icons and dances for players to choose from. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a thief dance, but then I also can’t say I’ve ever seen a thief. They’re sneaky, those ones.

Dollar Dash

Dollar Dash is scheduled to release sometime this October, with three different modes and 18 unique maps for players to pick from. I’m a big fan of the game’s visual style, and the fast-paced gameplay looks like it has a lot of potential, too.

Now excuse me while I go practice my lock picking skills.
