Playdead, the creators of Limbo, are continuing their proud tradition of doing horrible things to children with Inside.

Inside was one of just a few indie games to get more than a montage treatment at Microsoft’s E3 press conference today. This was our first glimpse at the game, which looks a whole lot like Limbo with a bit more color and busier backgrounds. It’s got a very Pink Floyd vibe, what with all the mindless, marching children and authoritarian aesthetic.

While the game was announced at Microsoft’s conference, it won’t be exclusive to their hardware. Like Limbo, it will launch first on Xbox (the Xbox One, to be precise) and reach other platforms at a later date. Limbo made it to just about every platform under the sun, including PC, iOS, and even OnLive.

Xbox owners can pick up Inside “in the first half of 2015,” according to Playdead.

I may be in the minority, but I wasn’t much a fan of Limbo’s gameplay. That said, if the developer explores the same skin-crawling imagery and themes of their first game I may be inclined to check it out.
