Carnage Racing Preview

Jagex, the studio behind the enduringly popular MMORPG Runescape, is taking its first journey into the wide world of social gaming. The result, called Carnage Racing, is a driving game with mind-blowing graphics. Jagex’s racing game brings console-quality graphics to Facebook

Jagex, the studio behind the enduringly popular MMORPG Runescape, is taking its first journey into the wide world of social gaming. The result, called Carnage Racing, is a driving game with mind-blowing graphics. Given that Facebook games still primarily feature static images and big-headed cartoon characters, the console-quality visuals in Carnage Racing need to be seen to be believed.

Carnage Racing

Carnage Racing is being put together by former members of Rockstar’s Midnight Club development team over at Jagex’s new Californian studio. The game’s pedigree alone indicates that it’s probably going to be something special for fans of Facebook games, but Jagex is taking pains to make sure Carnage Racing is the best possible multiplayer driving experience on the social platform. You can race with up to seven of your friends, but if you lack even one pal with a murderous driving fantasy, you can go ahead and challenge the game’s AI. You can also try your hand at speed trials in hopes of making your way to the top of the speed charts and seeing your name in digital lights.

However you decide to play, your job is to race around (no kidding!) in one of several handsome-looking cars. Carnage Racing isn’t just about going around in orderly circles, though. As its name suggests, you get to indulge in a wide selection of weapons, boosts, and warps. As you race, you earn in-game currency that lets you upgrade your weapons, your car, and everything else you need to emerge as the alpha car.

Carnage Racing hits Facebook this November, so prepare for your best driving experience since your dad souped up your Power Wheels.
