It seems everywhere you look these days, everyone is getting in on the Clash of Clans action. It was just the other day that we discovered a Star Wars base-building game had soft-launched in Australia. Now it looks as though Call of Duty has followed suit.

Call of Duty: Heroes is a free-to-play game of attack and defense, much like Supercell’s aforementioned chart-topper. Though with a military theme, I suppose this one is a little bit closer to their most recent release, Boom Beach.

I suppose it doesn’t really matter. If you’ve defended one base, you’ve defended them all.

That’s not to say that Call of Duty: Heroes won’t do anything to set itself apart. The screens look pretty by base-building standards, and One of Swords is reporting that the game will focus on popular franchise characters who with “epic Killstreaks and tactical expertise unique to each.”

There’s also a first-person chopper gunner element, which — you’ve got to admit — sounds pretty unique for games of this nature.

We’ll find out more when Call of Duty: Heroes hits western shores. Until then though, you can always check it out on the New Zealand or Australian App Store.
