Mobile games publisher Chillingo and game developer Codemasters, have teamed up to release Battle Decks onto mobile devices, later this year.
Featuring a collection of over 1,000 cards, Battle Decks is branded as a “strategic collectable card warfare game” which features “near future style” weapons and technology. So I take that to mean there won’t be any lasers or spaceships, just a lot of gear and guns that do lots of cool things.
“We’re delighted to be working with Chillingo on the launch of Battle Decks, a strategic card collection game for players who fancy a change from wizards and knights to military might,” said Jonathan Bunney, Codemasters’s VP of Publishing. “Our team in Malta has created a unique experience that is not only fun to play but looks truly amazing with its 3D cards and characters. Chillingo’s expertise in mobile publishing is second to none and we are looking forward to a long and successful partnership.”
Beyond that, the announcement press release doesn’t have many more details about Battle Decks, though expect to hear more about the game in the coming months.
