And now it’s back, with over 400 improvements and cross-platform play. Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is going to be huge.
Overhaul Games – a game developer featuring many of the original Bioware employees that worked on Baldur’s Gate, is looking to bring back the dozen-year-old classic and make it better than ever. Some of the major changes include higher resolution support, cross-platform matchmaking, tablet editions for iPad and Android, and all improvements from the original’s sequel, Baldur’s Gate II.
Beyond a game that is clearly cleaner and more functional than the original, Overhaul (an appropriate studio name, when you consider their work) is packing the remake full of extra content not found in any Baldur’s Gate game before it. Three new characters and the new Black Pits adventure boast a combined total of up to 18 hours of additional gameplay. Think you can survive through the self-described “hellish” difficulty levels?
