Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Pirates was just recently the free app of the week in the US App Store, so maybe you’re in the mood for more Assassin’s Creed without paying any money up front. Ubisoft has good news for you: they’ve announced Assassin’s Creed Memories for iOS, in partnership with GREE, PlayNext, and Abstergo Entertainment.

The game will be card-based battle game like many of GREE’s other titles, but will also blend together RPG and strategy elements. Assassins and other characters throughout history – including women according to the promo art – can be collected in order to build guilds and increase their power to defeat other players of the game. Don’t expect just time periods from existing games in the series to be represented, as new eras will be included too. And the multiplayer combat may get intense, as Ubisoft is promising twenty-on-twenty player-versus-player battles.

Few other details are available beyond the game’s existence for now, unfortunately, and no Android version has been announced yet. The game is supposedly soft-launching right now, but it’s not yet available in some of the usual suspect countries like Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore, so keep an eye out if you’re in a country that gets games early. Looks like this one will sneak up on us …like an assassin.
