Agatha Christie: 4:50 from Paddington – New teaser video

Packs your bags… for murder! And check out the new teaser video for I-play’s upcoming whodnut HOG Agatha Christie: 4:50 from Paddington. The game is launching June 17.

Miss Marple makes her debut in I-play’s latest Agatha Christie game

There’s a new detective in town for I-play’s next Agatha Christie hidden object game, and it ain’t Hercule Poirot. Agatha Christie: 4:50 from Paddington, which will launch later this month, marks the debut of Miss Marple – an elderly spinster with a knack for solving crimes.

While travelling through the English countryside, Miss Marple’s old friend Elspeth McGillicuddy witnesses a frightful even through the window of a passing train. Thankfully for Elspeth, Miss Marple is an expert sleuth. With little evidence to go on, Miss Marple must get to the bottom of the murder.

50 from Paddington

Like previous games in the series, 4:50 from Paddington has gameplay that is tightly interwoven with the story. You’ll search different locations looking for items on Miss Marple’s list; as well, you’ll search for a key item highlighted in the dialogue. Each key item you find reveals a bit more of the story so you can try to get to the bottom of the crime. At the end of each chapter you can try to solve a bonus puzzle based on the clues you’ve discovered.

Even the map screen where you click on the next location to search contains clues that must be figured out. In the preview we played, we couldn’t search the train station until we had figured out where it was based on the clue provided. (The clue “Train station is north of Hyde Park” meant that we had to find Hyde Park on a map of London and click on the spot north of it to reveal the station).

Each chapter begins with three hints, which recharge slowly over time. You can also earn hints by clicking on items in quick succession.

There are two modes: the main story mode (which you can play either timed or untimed), and a Find All mode where you can revisit all of the scenes and try to find every single hidden object in the game.

4:50 from Paddington will be launching later this month. Set an alert if you’d like to be notified the moment that the game comes out. In the meantime, be sure to check out other games in the series: Dead Man’s Folly, Death on the Nile, and Peril at End House.
